Keep trying!

After a dry start today it is now absolutely throwing it down! It's also ridiculously warm - can't believe it can you - beginning of the week we had 2 inches of snow!
Have done several CAS cards this week (most are inspired by others) and I have been trying to go back to techniques that I am not very good at!
So here's the offering for today and as they say Practice Makes Perfect!

I mixed some Stormy Sky and Weathered Wood Distress inks onto the mat and sprayed with a little water.

Normally I use too much water - I don't think I used enough here!

Pressed the card down onto it, then repeated with Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint for the ground.
The stamp is from a clear set and have no idea which make they are!
Simply used Versafine Black for the big tree and Smokey Gray for the smaller ones.
I then dipped and dragged a wet paintbrush at the base of each tree trunk with some of the DI left on the mat.
Layered onto white linen card and my all time fave sentiment stamp - done!

I am reasonably happy with this - and at least I am trying to become better at stuff that previously I have struggled with!

Challenges -
Less Is More - Silhouettes
Craft Rocket - CAS
Addicted to Stamps - Make Your Mark
Seize the Birthday - CAS

Thanks for looking and thanks for any comments you leave - I love to hear from you.x

Your technique looks great. Love the way it looks. It could be from a art gallery. Nice job Viv. We have about mare than two feet of snow on the ground here. Tomorrow it is time to break my back and shovel it. Smile.

I like this a lot. Not a technique I have used before. I have put the brayer away now don't want the rubber perishing in the sunlight!!!!!!!! Oooops sorry about the rope burn. Now it just so happens I bought some more pots of 45 cream last week (very good for reducing scar tissue ). Worked a treat on the tram lines left from The Docs Hernia operation so it will be good for burns. I will pop a pot on the shelf in the Tree House. Have moved the Hootch to a further hiding place. One that little bears can't reach. Speaking of which did you see the video on the news of the Panda playing in the snow? Apparently it has gone viral now.!! Hugd Mrs A.

Sorry to hear about the rope burns Viv . . . that Mrs A can get a bit carried away when she's scared by Miss turning up unexpectedly. Look outs will be posted this week.

Love the look of this inky card and good on ya for doing something outside your comfort zone. There's clearly NO END to your talents.

PS: It's Hooch o'clock at the Tree house later! Don't worry about your hedake . . . I've got a cure!

Hugs, Sarn xxx

I see nothing wrong with this, Viv. In fact I love how your background turned out. I'm a big smooshing fan and water does make a difference but I'm going to try it your way with less water next time. The trees in two colors really gives the scene dimension. I'm so glad you shared this at ATSM thss week.

Well, I see no struggle here at all, this card is gorgeous!! I love the technique you used and never thought to try that with two different colours or to create a scene. Its genius!! And using the brush to add that detail at the base of the tree's really does make a difference. Its an amazing card and I'm so glad you shared it with us at ATSM this week!

I know I am a bit late commenting on this but it is beautiful Viv and every smooshed background is different which is what makes it interesting, and the Clarity tree is a good size and stamped several times it makes a wonderful focal point. I love the way ypu have framed it too. Since Christmas I have found Mr Mojo has taken a holiday too. x
