Fly me to the Moon!

On Sunday morning dear husband took me to a local papercraft show. Only small but two of my favourite companies were there so  obviously I had a rather large spend.😳
Still it's been 5 years since I went to a show so I decided that if I spread what I'd spent over the last 5 years worth of shows it worked out at not a lot at all.....😀

Couldn't wait to get home to try out some of the new stash and so have two cards to share today so this is a picture heavy post.

I absolutely had to have these stamps!
The sentiment just jumped out at me.
All the stamps are of course by Inkylicious.

Stamped the moon with Tumbled Glass DI then masked. Sky colours used were Stormy Sky, Weathered Wood (DI) and Shaded Lilac (Oxide).

Hills were Shaded Lilac and Hickory Smoke (Oxide) and Weathered Wood/ Pumice Stone (DI).
Stamps are Bare Branches, Moon Detail and of course the sentiment, all inked with Black Versamark.

I edged the panel with Black Soot DI then matted onto black card.
I aimed to create a 'moody atmospheric' scene with these colours and am happy with the finished card - maybe a nice one to send to a man?

At the show there was a sample card done with really vibrant shades so I tried to replicate the colours. I am sharing this second card over at Time Out where the challenge is BOLD

Ink colours - Picked Raspberry/Carved Pumpkin/Spiced Marmalade for the sky
Squeezed Lemonade/Wild Honey/Picked Raspberry/Seedless Preserve for the hills.

A bit more stamping here too with more birds and the branches round the edges then the edge of the card sponged with Black Soot.
Think this one with it's lush colours would be perfect to send to a lady!

It's not often that I make more than one card of a very similar design but as you may have gathered by now I LOVE this sentiment stamp!
Some of my DT teamies at Stamping Sensations are awesome at scenes and are encouraging me to do more - SO I HAVE!!! LOL

Also Sharing  over at

Well if you've made it all the way to the end of this mammoth post - THANK YOU!!!
Hope all is well in your part of blogland.
Have a great day. x

Well, these are definitely awesome too Viv and I love the more moody and the bright and beautiful versions equally, and the foliage has framed the two scenes perfectly, and the birds are so sweet, and finished with that great sentiment too. x

Great scene making, love the subtly of the first card and the vibrant colours of the second x Love the sentiment too. Sounds good to me about the spending in the show and not having been to one for five years x

Wow Viv these are really stunning, super sentiment and totally fabulous backgrounds. I love this type of cards but I would not know where to start and I would make a real mess of them.

Absolutely stunning! I love them both! That sentiment is on my wish list too. A small local show is always good, and if you haven't been for 5 years then you deserved to treat yourself! Hopefully see you at Doncaster later in the year for another blowout!

Two beautiful scenes with your new stamps Viv! Isn't it fun to shop??!! I love your designs with the masked moon and mountains in the background. Your teamies will be excited to see your beautiful cards. Maybe the first one should go to your hubby for taking you to the show. Mine is very supportive of my obsession, excuse me, hobby as well. :) I talk about things constantly and figure he probably doesn't retain it, but today I mentioned Darnell and he asked about her NBUS challenges. Seriously, NBUS ... he remember it! :) Bet your hubby is the same. xx

I agree totally with your spending logic at craft shows! And you got some fabulous stamps so great craft/money management IMHO. Love these looks, and while #1 is so cool & serene with the muted colors, #2 with the vivid shades really gravs the eye. That is a fabulous sentiment that can be used for many recipients on various occasions. Well done on all counts. TFS

Two gorgeous cards - I too like Inkylicious but didn't get chance to see them at the show this time - too busy. Next time you must come and say 'hello' - hope it isn't five years away though.
Hugs & Thanks for your visit.

These cards are simply gorgeous Viv and don't they look wonderfully different with the colour changes. I can see why you love that sentiment and the moon looks so real! I like your reasoning about the craft show spend - we crafters are all the same in this respect lol!

These cards are stunning Viv, lovely stamps and fab sentiments. I'm quite green with envy as it seems we are not getting any craft shows in our area this year and I'm feeling Inkylicious deprived !
