What a way to treat a tablecloth!
In a mad hurry but needed a card for a child's birthday so had a bit of a 'lightbulb' moment and remembered this LOTV offering called 'Birthday Bumps.
Although this started off it's life as a pre-coloured image, I added a bit of pastel chalk to the sky (as the white background was really stark) and some watercolour and distress inks on the actual image to darken it a bit.
I kept the layout quite simple and straightforward and used up a couple of odd pieces of paper that co-ordinated with the check background.
A simple layering job, stamped sentiment, a couple of pearls and some ribbon and job done!
I have been doing my 'domestic goddess' impersonation today - caught up with the washing, ironing, hoovering and general housework so am feeling quite smug.... LOL
Have a free evening so am hoping to be able to do something constructive and a bit more fun than using the duster!!!
HELP? - All the blogs I follow have disappeared from my reading list- only one at a time is showing in the feed - when I click 'view more' nothing happens! Anyone any ideas??
Thanks for calling in - will be round to do my catch up with you all later IF I CAN FIND YOU ALL - hope the sun is shining wherever you are. x

ReplyDeleteFabulous card Viv how I wish that I could bring them together so quickly. I seem to have left my mojo back on holiday!. My feed is the same on blogger...it was OK yesterday but not today...reckon they could have altered it?
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem but luckily your gorgeous card showed up xx Jan
ReplyDeleteWell, your card is fab, love that gorgeous image. I have been scrolling down my blog list but as you say, it takes forever. Thought I`d skip some and come straight to you. `V` is nearly at the bottom of the list so I would have missed this one. Thanks for commenting on mine and giving me an excuse to visit.

ReplyDeleteI think the blogger issue will be doing Bloglovin no end of good as lists are coming through fine albeit 1 day behind and not as long. Hugs Mrs a.
Just Gorgeous VIV! Nice job for a quick card. Great colors and Fun subject.
ReplyDeleteYour problem is sweeping the blog world and bringing it to its knees. Last night I checked out several sources of information and it is a tidal wave. I have been without my reader for well over a week. One individual has 60 entries complaining about the problem. I have entered complaints in the teens or twenties. They send these duplicate entry messages back to me. I complain every time I log on. I told them we would be on a first name basis by the time they fix it.
I can hardly believe you made this card quickly, it's wonderful! such a cute image! I don't have any expertise in blogger, but I hope you find the answer. Thanks for joining us at Opus Gluei!
ReplyDeleteThis is just precious. Such a cute image.

I love these little bears! I remember (a long time ago now in the fifties/sixties)when you were given the "bumps" at school if it was your birthday (probably not allowed now - good thing too) - I hated it but was lucky to have my birthday in April so was quite often on Easter hols! Hope you are enjoying this fab weather Viv. Not much crafting going on here but lots of gardening. X
ReplyDeleteThis is the BEST way to use a tablecloth! Your card is adorable, Viv, and the papers coordinate beautifully! I saw on another blog that the reader problem has been fixed. Yippie!! Hugs, Darnell
