CAS Mix Up has a new challenge running until the last day of the month and the task is 'BLACKOUT EMBOSSING'
The 3d embossing folder is Spellbinders Beautiful Blooms.
I cut out one of the blooms from the embossing folder and used this for my blackout.
The flower and leaves were coloured with watercolour pencils.
I popped the white piece up on some 3d foam tape so the blackout piece is slightly lower.
I am a rubbish photographer as I seem to have somehow not shown the back matted layer all the way round - trust me it's there!

I hope you will visit the CAS Mix Up blog and have a look at some of the gorgeous makes from the rest of the DT - they're definitely worth a look!
And then maybe you'll have a go and link up to us - we really like to visit and see what you have created! x

This is beautiful Viv!! Love the gorgeous flower and leaves surround by the black. Very dramatic with the contrast. Lovely embossed design for your background. xx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and very striking card Viv.

I have yet to try this technique but you've done a grand job of using it combined with a CAS style of card.
ReplyDeleteGreat CAS card, love the beautiful embossed flower and background.

This is a beautiful floral EF Viv and so pretty in pink and green with the black ink, and a great idea to cut the piece from the white embossed EF and placed back into the angled square aperture so it seamlessly matches up.. a wonderful card. x
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Viv. Great take on the blackout technique too. I love how you've taken part of the design and made a feature of it x
