I went to the card stash this week and found that I didn't have a single sympathy or condolence card - you can't believe it can you - all the cards I make and not one sympathy one left when I need one.
To be fair, I DID have a few but I suppose people take them to have in 'just in case'.
I don't often use grey backgrounds for cards but having seen something similar on Pinterest thought I would give it a go. I think the card that inspired me was done by girlgeek who uses a lot of inchie tiles in her projects.
I am quite happy with the way this turned out - using grey pearlised cardstock gave a lustre and more interesting finish instead of a flat one.
The 3 'tiles' were odd bits of white card and I sponged Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade and edged the bottom of each tile with a little Peeled Paint before cutting them to same size rectangles.
The stamps are mostly from SU's Silhouette Sentiments. I used Versafine Smokey Grey ink as I though black may look too harsh and I wanted a softer effect.
The sentiment (also from an SU set) simply embossed with silver.

We've had quite a nice day here for a change - the lawn got a haircut this morning and so did I! Have a great day whatever you're doing. x

That looks beautiful Viv, perfect for such a sad occasion.
Great image and a great choice of colours.
I have made a batch of those type of cards as I find them difficult to make when they are needed, so if I make them in advance I can do them without being upset.

A lovely thoughtful card Viv. The tiles are beautiful against the grey background.

Your grey pearlised card works well on this card. Like the ilittle tiles and I agree that black inking for the sentiment would have been too heavy. My grass got more of a hacking than a hair cut but my noodle did fair better at the hairdressers this afternoon!! Hugs Mrs A.
Perfect sympathy card Viv

Thanks for the inspiration Viv. I have this set of stamps and rarely use them.
Sorry you had need of a sympathy card.

Beautiful card Viv. You are right ... the soft grey is just perfect for stamping your images. Great design. xx
The image on these tiles is just perfect for a sympathy card Viv and I love the nice soft colours on the tiles background and also the silver embossed sentiment, then the grey base card which is really in keeping. x
I love this colour combination Viv, Beautiful card

The inking with the gray stamping is gorgeous, Viv, and it's perfect atop the gray base. I'm so glad you shared this with us at ATSM this week.
So pretty and heartfelt. Thanks for sharing with us at Penny's Paper-Crafty.

This is beautiful and I think you made the right decision using the grey ink to stamp your images. Its such a soft design and perfect for a Sympathy card. I find them very hard to make myself, so might have to CASE this one. So very glad you shared it with us at ATSM this week!!
This is a beautiful sympathy card, the softness of the colors stand in great contrast to the background. These cards are hard to make, but this is so right for this kind of occasion.
Great card, Viv, not always easy to make sympathy cards, but this is very tastefully made, beautiful ink work.
Thanks so much for the inspiration,

Viv I love how you have done this, was just thinking I have all these little inchie squares that are just sitting in the draw never used and how lice they would look with this idea. Love the colours you used too and agree grey was a much better choice. Beautiful
Beautiful card, so neat and clean.
Thanks for sharing in The Crafty Addicts Challenge, hope to see you again.
