Since my last post (was it really such a long time ago?) I have travelled to Devon, Dorset, Hertfordshire, Wiltshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Somerset and Wales (TWICE!).
I have had four days at home and tomorrow it's back to Wales before going on to Warwickshire, Suffolk and Norfolk. After that I am home for a entire week before off to Leamington Spa for the month of the National Championships.
Having caught up with the washing etc (and all those other dreaded things associated with housework), done some paperwork , last night I sat down in the craftie space (or should that read COLLAPSED in the craftie space???). There was a pile of odd bits on the desk (covered in dust!). They reminded me of a card seen a long time ago on the talented Birgit's blog. I kept a note of the layout etc in my 'bitty bits' file, dug it out and came up with this.
I used my usual fave textured white card for the card base and matched it with an odd leftover panel. A scrap of the same textured card in black tidied up - thankfully just about the right size - and layered onto the panel.
An odd bit of vellum which was all tatty round the edges straightened up and then stamped with a small falling leaf stamp and sentiment in Black Versamark and then clear embossed.
A few tiny bronze beads (really fiddly and I nearly gave up!) threaded onto some twine, wrapped round the panel and tied, before attaching to the main card base.
Added a couple of black pearls and job done.
This is the first card I have made in such a long time - (I was organised with my DT posts and all cards done before the beginning of May!) - and it was nice to just have some 'me' time!
More 'me' time now - off to have a nice manicure and a bit of pampering!
Thanks for hanging in with me whilst my visits have been so rare - appreciate you all very much.
Have a lovely day whatever you're doing. x

Brilliant design, love those colours too. Have a lovely weekend.xx {aNNie}
Really elegant card Viv - vellum is certainly back in vogue and you used it beautifully here. I can see how fiddly those beads must have been - but well worth it as a terrific finishing touch.
I needed a lie down after reading all about your travels! Phew.

A simple yet classy card, Viv! My favorite kind!
What you have made from leftover bits and pieces from your desk top is beautiful. I love the string with the tiny beads it finishes the card off beautifully.

What a busy summer schedule you have Viv! Glad you were able to find a little "me" time with your crafting. This card is really beautiful and so creative with the heat embossed vellum over black. xx
Odd bits and pieces put together in perfect harmony! A card with a wow factor!
Sounds as though you've had lots of fun visits around to some fabulous places. It's always a downer to come home to clean up the housework, but at least you've another outing to look forward to. Love how you've used up some bits (I think several of us are doing that!) This turned out very smart, and I love the look of the black leaves on the vellum. The white twine accessory is perfect, and how you ever got those beads threaded, amazing. The decoration really adds so much to this lovely card. TFS & Have a great wkend.
Great card as always Viv,although how you find the time with all that travelling lately I can't imagine lol. Take it easy for a bit,if that's possible! ☺ Hugs Viv xx
