Our sponsors are Chocolate Baroque and you need to pop over to the challenge blog to have a look at the great prize on offer... and whilst you're there, please check out our rules for entry please - we are a STAMPING challenge!
This is a technique called Water Reactive Colouring and is a really easy technique of sponging a card front with Distress Oxide inks, heat embossing a design, and then lifting colour using a water brush.
With each pass over the design you lighten the image so that it stands out against the dark background.
I used Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers for this card using a stamp from a set called Hydrangea Tag by our sponsors.
I added a small gold die cut butterfly - cos he was lying on the desk looking lonely!
There are some great examples of this technique in blogland - here, here and here!
There's also lots over at the blog to inspire you - please visit my teamies blogs and tell them what you think of their inspiration - hoping you will join in with us again this month!

This technique is so effective - something else to try in a spare moment. I've had this stamp set forever but admit it hasn't been used for a while. Off to follow your links for some inspiration.
I've learn something new today Viv, there is actually a name for bleaching/faux beaching out the colour, now I just have to remember what it's called.
The gold looks very luxurious against the aqua tones of the lovely CB image.

This is gorgeous Viv and love the blue tones in the background with the gold of the hydrangea and script and love the way you have lifted the colour with water on the flower, also the gold die cut butterfly looks great . x
This is a very pretty Chocolate Baroque image Viv and love the blue tones and a great idea to lift the colour from the flower by water bleaching to make it pop. The gold die cut butterfly goes beautifully too. x
A beautiful card Viv and the blue and gold look amazing together, gorgeous stamp too x
This looks gorgeous Viv - the gold with the vivid blue looks beautiful...such an elegant combination!
Great technique tip, Im used to splattering water and remove color this way but that gives a random result. This is stylish, extra wow points for it being a quick make, it looks impressive.
A beautiful card and a great effect with the gold embossing. A lovely elegant stamp, I like the vintage look it has. A fantastic creation! Marlies x
One of my favourite CB images, Viv, and that stunning technique shows it off perfectly. A very elegant and beautiful card.
