Beautiful

Having been at home since the middle of the week I have had some time to relax and enjoy the glorious weather. Although it's been too hot for me at times I have really enjoyed seeing blue skies and sunshine - long may it continue!
Have a share today using one of my Technique Tuesday fave stamps - Cherry Blossom.

I love this stamp. When I was a child we had a huge cherry blossom tree in the garden. I used to climb it!
It was so pretty when it was in flower - but drove my poor Mum to distraction when the blossom started to drop all over the garden!

I stamped onto a small piece of watercolour paper in Abandoned Coral DI then misted the paper and simply splashed about with a watercolour brush.

Added some gold Liquid Pearls and cut out with a stitched rectangles die.
It looked a little 'lost' on the background linen textured card so I cut out a slightly larger rectangle. Used 3d foam pads to raise it up.

Quite happy with this one!

Am popping over to the following challenges -
Crafters Cafe - Keep It Simple
Flower Challenge - Monochrome
CAS on Friday - Splash of Watercolour
Fussy and Fancy - Pretty in Pink
A2S+M - CAS
HLS Watercolour - Anything Goes

Quick update - Miss Di has allowed me to join in at the Playground this time round as I was too late for last challenge last night and too early for the one that started today - she's a nice person our Miss Di - and I promise I won't spray anyone with the hose pipe.....! xx.

Thank you for looking and for leaving any comments. I appreciate it!
Enjoy the weather! x

...........JULES RIMET STILL GLEAMING..... see, I’m almost converted Viv :). Your comment made me smile, thank you. The secret to blending is just a touch of glycerin on your blending tool, then gently rotating and moving along at the same time, it works a treat. I originally thought it only worked with Oxides but it works just as well with Distress inks, and in fact any other water based inks. Give it a try and if it doesn’t work, then don’t worry as your cards are just beautiful as they are. The water colour effect of this card is fabulous. Take care, stay cool and I’ll be with you all the way on Wednesday! Crafty hugs, Sandra x

Looking forward to the football too Viv...I have been really enjoying it and hope we do well x Your card is so pretty and love the loose watery look to it. Yes we have blossoms on our street and they look beautiful in bloom but really don't last long and in fact when they come out I always say here's comes the rain to wash them away and sure enough it happens!!! I must stop saying it x.

Oh Viv - what a gorgeous card! And I love the idea of the extra 'frame' - it works a treat! So lovely to be reminded of cherry blossom. Having said that, we had to have one on the front garden removed a few years ago as it was beginning to disturb the driveway with its roots! Ack!

Hugs

Di xx

Sigh. What a truly lovely card this is, Viv! I love how you framed your image from behind with another rectangle, which really is effective! (note to self!) I am going to give your coloring technique a try, too! I love that you "simply splashed about with a watercolour brush" and came up with this amazing wash!! Enjoy the sunshine and have a great summer! I know it's your very busy time!! Hugs, Darnell

This is one of the most beautiful interpretations of the cherry blossom I've seen. I love those beautiful flowers that melt in a delicate pink haze.
Thank you for joining the challenge in HLS Watercolor.

This cherry blossom is so pretty Viv and love the bit of watercolouring and the added gold liquid pearls on the flowers, also the double stitched mat suits it perfectly. x

This is really pretty. I like the effect you have created here. Our neighbour has a cherry tree in his front garden which drops its flowers all over our driveway and The Docs car which drives him nuts every year. Hugs Mrs A.
