Two cards- one post

I made this card a couple of weeks ago just before the Monochromatic challenge at CAS Watercolour started. As I am trying to expand my watercolour skills I wanted to have a go at this months challenge and also to continue my promise to myself that I would try and enter each month.

I thought twice about linking it when I saw the wonderfully talented Birgit, this months Guest Designer, had produced another wonderful watercolour for her DT spot which makes mine pale in comparison!!!
It was only when I realised that I would maybe not have time to do another that I made the decision to post.

So continuing with my entering the CAS challenges here's one made for the CAS Christmas challenge which has the theme of 'Warm and Cozy'.
I hereby announce that it is official - I am RUBBISH with digi stamps! I have never really got to grips with them although I must have amassed hundreds of them over the years.

I never seem to get the sizing right and so it proved on this card which maybe doesn't have enough white space - but am sharing it anyway to show that I tried!

Little Scottie is from A Day For Daisies and I paper pieced him a plaid coat to keep him warm and added a little sparkly ribbon collar.
Some light ink dusting and some secondary stamping using a Uniko pine branch and then stamped the sentiment.

Both these challenges are half way through so there is still time to enter!

There's also still time to enter the CAS Stencil challenge and I will be back tomorrow to share my mid month DT card. Pop over and get out your stencils!!

Have a great day whatever you're doing. x

Stunning water colouring on the first card and so artsy...You have made this technique your own Viv x. What an adorable second card and that super cute little scotty dog looks so very cozy x.

I think that scene is beautiful Viv and with such pretty foliage highlighted with the dimensional pearls and then the sweet little Westie looking very smart and cosy in his tartan coat, and love the gold sparkly ribbon, and the background foliage and soft colouring suits it perfectly. x

First past the post! :) Well I love your monochromatic scene and the way you have framed it..looks super to me...and as for little Scottie...love his tartan coat and gold bow. I have never really enjoyed digital crafting either I have to say though I have loads of CD's on the shelf and other images in the computer. I like rubber!! (stamps only of course!..lol)

Love your monochrome snowy scene to bits. The little doggie looks so cute with his gingham jacket on. You can resize your digital images in word to get the sizing you want. I print off on printer paper first to see how the image will fit my card and then adjust up or down accordingly before printing off onto my proper cardstock. Hugs Mrs A.

First, I LOVE your watercoloured, monochromatic card, Viv! It's gorgeous. If we all compared our work to Birgit's, none of us would be posting. :) This watercoloured scene is frame worthy and should be hung on your wall. Seriously, you are too hard on yourself. Same for the cute scottie dog. Adorable with his plaid sweater. xx

The winter scene is perfect a really super card, quite dramatic.
What a really cute little doggy, lovely subtle background and a great coat.
My youngest Grandson, 11 next month has written his Christmas wish list.
No 1 - a dog
No 2 - a dog bowl
No 3 - a dog bed
He is desperate for a dog.

I have made hm a birthday card with a dog on it, it is as close as he will get.

Your little Scottie is adorable dressed in his plaid best. The gold bow is a fun and festive touch.
I’ve never tried digital images and you just confirmed why. *lol* Thank you for joining us at CAS Christmas.

Oh Viv, your monochromatic card is absolutely GORGEOUS and no need at all to compare yourself to Birgit...she is one gifted artist, but then so are you! You have totally captured the cold and gray that a lot of Winter actually is...at least in my part of Michigan it is! I think your card is absolutely lovely!! And I really like your Christmas card with that sweet little pup too...SOOOOO cute!! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!! :0)

I LOVE your little watercolor scene, Viv! It is as beautiful as any of Birgit's wonderful designs! Actually, I think you should frame this one. And your Scotty dog with his plaid coat and sparkly collar is adorable! Two fantastic CAS cards! Wish I could vote for both of them. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour and CAS Christmas!
