A bit of Stamping

Our weather the last few days has been definitely not Spring like! We've had hail, heavy rain, sleet and high winds and the best place to be was indoors.

I did a little bit of stamping earlier in the week (having been inspired by Pinterest) and finally assembled them into cards this morning.

I haven't put a sentiment on any of them yet and not sure if I even will!

The hydrangea is from an old Choc Baroque set - it has a script background but I just inked the flower head with my waterbrush pens and gave it a light spritz before stamping.

Some foliage in shades of grey and green and I lightly distressed the edges of the panel.

This was quite quick to do once I stopped dithering about which stamps to use! The hydrangea is one of my fave flowers - the different colours of the flower heads depending on what type of soil it is in is another of those wonders of nature!

Himself and I had our first Covid jabs on Thursday.
I fared better than he did - headache, a heavy arm and felt very tired which have mostly gone today except for the little niggling headache  but my poor man got the works - shivers, sweats, unable to lift his head off the pillow.
Thankfully much better today and it's done now - until June anyway!
Hope all is well with you in your part of the world, stay safe - even if the vaccines are rolling out we're not quite out of the end of this long tunnel! x

LOL at your message on my blog Viv - and no, I would not be so rude as to tell anyone to shape up in that way! Your card is a beauty. I love the flower and the way you stamped the foliage in different colours to add depth. Hydrangeas are amazing aren't they. I do love nature's little surprises :) Hope you and Himself are feeling much better now. Vicky x

What a serene, immensely pretty design. It the card version of a peaceful walk through a gorgeous meadow of wildflowers.

Loving the way you've used the hydrangea stamp with the grasses and leaves. I have an idea that the original stamp is lurking in my stash somewhere, maybe it needs an airing. Sorry to hear that your husband had a bad reaction to the jab, hope you both feel OK very soon.

This is gorgeous Viv. You've managed to get so much texture in the flower and the leaves look so realistic. I love the colours in the flower too.....great job my friend x

Such a beautiful card Viv, I love how you've stamped it. Sorry to hear your hubby has been feeling so ill after his jab. I had mine yesterday and am pleasently surprised at how I feel today, went for a walk in the sunshine we've had here today and although my legs felt like lead while walking, so far so good.

Glad you have had your first jab, it definitely helps you feel brighter, even if you did get some adverse symptoms. Your card is gorgeous, love the soft stamping and the colours. When I first started card making I never put a sentiment on the front and now I very rarely don't! Let's hope we start seeing a bit of spring soon. We had a hail shower earlier xx

Gorgeous card Viv - woderful stamping technique too. Hope you and Graham have both recovered well from you jabs - Len reacted worse than I did, but it's at least a route to the end of this lot - we hope! Same weather as you, so much for sunny 'ampshire!

A gorgeous card Viv. Lovely stamps and well designed. My husband was also ill from the jab. I haven't had mine yet which is strange as we are the same age.
Take care and lets hope for better weather and better times. Marlies

I think your design is beautiful and no sentiment is needed. I feel there’s a bigger need and demand for cards for other occasions than birthdays and Christmas now, more than ever, so to have some multipurpose cards on hand might be a good idea.

Still 'not' Spring like weather here Viv. Your card is stunningly beautiful with great stamping and I love how you've 'coloured' the hydrangea x. Sorry to hear about the effects of the vaccines you both had Viv x.

Sorry to hear of your reactions to the jabs. Hope your both feeling m0re able today. The reactions seem to differ so much with each person. I wish we didn't have to go back for the second one but needs must. Your card is lovely. The Hydrangea certainly is a surprising flower.I have one in the back garden which so far has been in several shades of crimson to pale pink. Hugs Mrs A.

I love this beautiful hydrangea Viv and a great idea to use your waterbrush pens to watercolour just the flower and love the added foliage. Glad you have now had your first jabs but sorry to hear your hubby especially had a worse reaction. I did have the shivers on the first night but took paracetamol and it was over within a couple of hours, and just a little chilled feeling the next day, and hubby felt a bit flu-y for a day. Funny enough I had no problem with a heavy arm and it didn't get sore or red. It's strange how it effects everyone in a different way. x

I love your purple hydrangea, Viv! The distressed edges make a nice framing! I'm glad you've started on your vaccinations! I've heard that a reaction means that the vaccine is working like it's supposed to on your immune system. I had a bit of reaction after the second shot. Better than COVID though.

Beautiful card Viv, I am a lover of gerbera and roses but the flower that gives me such pleasure to see and so many wonderful memories is the hydrangea even if I dont know how to spell it most of the time So many beautiful colours as you said depending on the soil but also a flower mum and I would always stand around admiring and discussing the most. Seeing the big flowers in a glass vase always in the dinning room, ahhh I go off into memories. sorry. I hope your husband is feeling better now, I have a couple of friends who said they had that kind of reaction, kind of puts you off having the second jab, hey. In Australia they havent reached us plebes yet so we just watch and wonder lol. Now after all this I want to go back to your card, its beautiful and the soft watercolour looks wonderful. Thank you so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge and we hope to see you there again soon. Aileen DesignTeam
