Our new challenge at TRY IT ON TUESDAY is 'Halloween'.
(where apples were floated in a bowl of water and you had to bite into one with your hands behind your back)
or 'Toffee Top'
(Nan would coat apples with toffee and they'd be hung from a string in a doorway and you had to bite into one to get it - again with your hands behind your back - getting toffee out of your hair was not a lot of fun!) and not a lot else, unlike now where there are costumes, house decorations and every shop seems to sell something spooky related.
I opted for an ink blended background and a couple of Lavinia stamps. The tiny cute spider is from Card-io.
There's a bit of sparkle on the flourish which doesn't show very well.
Hope you will join us this time and please have a look at the rest of the DT makes.
Thank you for all your good wishes. Some days are good, others not so but am hanging in there and trying to keep myself motivated with different things! x

A great spooky scene. I'm not really a fan of Halloween either but you are right, it's big business these days. The old ways with apples were both messy affairs, best avoided. Hugs x.
This is fabulous Viv. This card definitely proves Halloween is your thing. :) hugs-Erika
Gorgeous atmospheric Hallowe’en card Viv, I love your inky background xx
Halloween is not my thing either. Great Halloween card and inky background, love the silhouette stamps and sentiment.

Such a magical Halloween scene! Loving the background colours and blending and the stamps that you used, it's fa-boo-lous ...hee, hee ☺️. I hope you're having a wonderful October! Hugs, Jo x
A lovely moody magical card. I don’t do Halloween either, I feel very lucky we didn’t have to do the apple bob, particularly the toffee in the hair, ugh! 😂 xxx
A fantastic Halloween scene Viv. I love the image of the witch casting her spell. Thanks for bringing happy memories with the dunk apples.
I have absolutely no memories of anything happening at halloween when I was a child and would have hated what you describe with the apples, so I am glad to have missed out on that! You have made a beautiful card. It has such lovely atmosphere. Sorry to hear things are still a bit of a struggle at times xx
Halloween isn't really my thing either, but I enjoy making Halloween cards for my American friends. Your card is also very fitting, it's not too scary, more magical.
Just stunning Viv!! LOVE your background! And Halloween isn't my thing either! LOL! ((HUGS)) Helen
wow, so atmospheric, your ink blending is beautiful creating such a misty eerie scene xx
A fabulous card Viv, I love the Lavinia witches. I enjoy making Halloween cards, but that's about it, although this year I've done quite a few crafty makes with the twins who have been very excited about it. Avril xx
Yes, they were my Halloween nights too, no dressing up, just fun! I love your magical witch - especially with that gorgeous setting she is in! Hugs, Chrisx
Fabulous witchy hallowe’en card.
Ugh, toffee in your HAIR? What a waste! LOL!
Wishing you a GOOD day.
Hugs, Sarnie xxx
A lovely card for Halloween - not my thing at all I’m afraid, but I always have sweets ready just in case. Never get anyone at the door so sadly I have to eat them!
