Snowflakes

Have promised myself a day doing as little as possible today!
Spent from 8am to 8pm on my feet yesterday - we did our usual Christmas meal at the Club - 46 people all sat down for Roast Beef, followed by Christmas Pud then cheese and biscuits with lots of choccies and mince pies thrown in, quick raffle and a couple of games of bingo. It's a lot of effort as we have to cook meat etc at home the day before and then try and cook roasties in the Club oven... which has steadfastly refused to follow suggested cooking times and part cooked spuds take 2 hours instead of 30 minutes!
It's actually quite stressful as we always feel under a lot of pressure to please everyone.
Everyone seemed to enjoy it though - thing is that next day I feel like I've been run over by a bus as the top half of my back and neck do NOT like me standing all day and stretching up and down to get stuff in and out of ovens, and OH isn't too hot either - so after 4 years we've hung our Christmas aprons up for the last time!!

Here's another Christmas share for you today -  in a colour I wouldn't associate with Christmas at all!

Randomly stamped a greeting and a variety of snowflakes onto cream card in Sepia ink, added some ribbon and flowers then mounted it onto the background paper which I'd edged with a scallop punch.
Layered it all onto cream card.
Popped a few sparkly gems into the centre of the snowflakes, dusted the flowers with some Stickles to make them look 'frosty' and finished with a couple of pearl pins.

I think this monochromatic color theme is exceptionally beautiful. I never would have thought this for a Christmas card color, but now I'm completely hooked! Beautiful design and layout with the most wonderful embellishments. A very classy card for Christmas. :)

I love this krafty Christmas card Viv. So elegant.

I will be helping to cook Christmas lunch for 50 again this year in our village hall (on Christmas Day)and I know just what you mean about the stress and aches and pains afterwards - and as we all know, you cannot please everybody all of the time - but it is a good event to do so we will continue as long as we are able! love X

I'm glad everyone had a lovely lunch together Viv, it's so nice to get together in groups to celebrate the season. Hopefully your back and neck will recover quickly... I know how sore it can be after a long day on your feet.

I absolutely love your Christmas card! Even though it's not traditionally Christmas, I think the colour is fantastic. Love it!
Cheers,
Beccy
