Happy Sunday

Finally we have a dry day here in the North of England - the blue sky has a damn cheek showing it's face after the horrendous weather! I often have said about being here on the top of the moors and the gale force winds we have when everyone else has a little bit of a breeze, but my goodness have I been thankful for being so high up when you see the floods in the nearby villages.
The destruction and devastation caused by the water has been unspeakably bad - even a 200 year old pub was washed away. Big mop ups underway today but I fear tho' it is only going to be a brief respite as the weather is going to be bad again mid week - am hoping that those who have had to leave their homes are able to get back into them today - even if it's only to retrieve some undamaged possessions.
I don't feel very Christmassy now (did I ever????? LOL) so instead here's a snippet make.
The bike is a wooden one - part of a card of wooden embellies bought last year after seeing a similar make and thinking it was a good idea! (Something else found in the recess of a drawer....)

The paper was from the 'odds and sods' box and I layered it onto a piece of beige coloured left over card before mounting it onto the white base card.

I stamped a teeny basket, cut out then stuck it onto the bike wheel, added a couple of punched flowers with tiny blingy centres and two pins.
Stamped the sentiment in Versamark Sahara Sand Ink onto another snippet of card.

Father Christmas (in the guise of my long suffering OH) bought me a new digital camera so I have been playing about with it! Pic is certainly better  - and it is nice and easy to use - but it has loads of different settings which I've not even tried out yet!
Another lazy day for me today - feel guilty as I think I should have gone out because the rain has stopped but honestly can't be bothered!!

My, that IS a very pretty card and I love the cute embellishments.

Sad about your local area flooding problems. My heart goes out to those who've lost treasured possessions and are having to spend Christmas and the New Year facing a massive clean up and salvage operation.

We are low level and have had some flooding due to the brooks and canal around us.Nothing like those poor souls though.

Was it Joanie Mitchell, Little Yellow bicycle, came to mind but these days my mind has a mind of it's own!
Lovely card, great embellishments on the bike and lovely papers.
Well I would say it is the days that the rain came down as it seems to have been never ending and dark here in West Yorkshire, thought today was going to be a day without rain but no tea time it started again.
Happy New Year to you.

LOVE this card Viv - really pretty work. It's horrendous seeing the dreadful damage caused by the flooding - the worst of it is a repetition I think - some folk have cleaned up as best they could only to be hit once again. Glad to hear you're faring OK with being high up though!

Hugs

Just saw the link to the video and the weather is horrid and the water is never ending. I do hope you are okay and I do wonder what is happening to our world. We are in the middle of summer and where I live north of Sydney it's supposed to he HOT, well the opposite, it's cold like winter. We just got back from New Zealand where the locals told us there is a huge hole in the ozone layer there hence why there is a large melanoma percentage in the country. We got burnt on a cold day, so work that out.
I do hope the new year brings you peace and happiness and thanks for being a fabulous cyber buddy.xxx

Excellent creation Viv. The wooden bike is cute. Seems of late there are a lot of disasters of one sort or another. It sure is nice to see you back on the blog again. I have had one mishap after another that prevented me from stopping by. To everyone's misfortune they are all fixed for the time being and I am back. SMILE. Chuckle. Have a great New Year.

Love, Hugs and Blessings

Brilliant card - I love the design. The basket of flowers is a perfect finishing touch.

Glad to hear that you've escaped the floods, but so devastating for those affected. xx
