Another week almost gone - and I shall be glad to see the back of it. It has been just been a week of devastatingly sad news - and it seems even worse as it is so close to Christmas.
Cards are done and most posted thankfully. Still no sign of any Christmas Tree in the house or any decorations!
Am not big into Christmas - bit of Bah Humbug here! I think it's because it's a time for families to be together and as we are rather short of relatives (!!!!!) I find myself not wanting to be bothered with all the rigmarole that surrounds it - - apart from of course eating Christmas Dinner!!!!
Will get round to putting the tree up sometime this week no doubt - we are doing our usual cooking Christmas Lunch for 40 at the Club next Saturday.
Have rather a lot of these 'never before used stamps'.
Seeing something similar on Pinterest I thought I would give this a go.
The large background stamp was gold embossed and coloured with Distress inks in shades of pink and green.
I ragged the edge a bit and sponged a little Antique Linen DI round it and a little randomly on the stamped bit.
Stamped the top only of the smaller bauble onto a scrap piece and decoupaged it, adding some tiny blingy bits to the middle.
The poinsettia on the large bauble was done using one of the MUSOC stamps this year -(most used stamp of Christmas). Am surprised it has not worn out.
Coloured with the same DI then layered and a die cut flourish and a big blingy centre.
This really IS a bad photo. The weather here has just been soooooo bad - and it's still raining!

Sorry it's not been a good week Viv. But you have pulled a glorious card out of the pot today, I really do like the pinks on a seasonal card.
Have to confess I am a but like you with Christmas, my Mum never liked it so it was sort of inbred, but always managed to put that aside for the sake of the children, but when Dad who I cared for died two days before Christmas four years ago I've struggled with it even more. So probably another Bah Humbug here.

I love Christmas . . . but confess that as each year passes, I get a little less excited and more stressed by it!

Sorry you've had a difficult week mate. Hope next week is better.

Sorry to hear you are getting it tough at the minute Viv. Keep your chin up xx. I love your beautiful card, would cheer anyone up. I also struggle with Christmas but we are having the grandkids round this year so hopefully that will put a nice spin on it. Christmas really is for kids! Adults just struggle with sad memories I find.
This is gorgeous! I love the non-traditional colors. Praying that the new week is better for you! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CRAFT Challenge! Brenda
Sorry you have had some sad news recently and that you feel a bit bah humbug about Christmas. I'm am a bit like that usually and for several years haven't really bothered much about it but we do have our son over from Australia this Christmas which has made it special this year. How fantastic of you to cook lunch for 40 people on Saturday though! I love your pretty pink and green card and the bits of dimension with the foliage, flourish and pretty poinsettias look great. x
So beautiful Viv, love the colours... Hope this week is better for you X

Not big on Christmas here either. We don't even bother putting the tree up anymore. The kids are scattered and have their own families to spend Christmas celebrations with. We just enojoy being at home eating and drinking what we like. Bah humbug and all that.!
Love this poinsettia card. Your colouring and embellishment of the flower is terrific. Hugs Mrs A.
Sorry you've had some sad news, hope you are ok. This is a lovely combination of elements to are a great card, really like that background stamp too.
Beautiful creation love your image. We only just got back from vacation and thought I'd have a bit of a play with images.
