I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I spent mine getting to grips with some paperwork and then had a little time for myself in the craftie space.
When I am able to I try to take part in the CAS Mix Up Challenges. I find it easy to add elements onto fussy cards but trying to make CAS ones with the required elements taxes me a bit and I like the challenge!
This month it's 'Inlaid Dies + Stamping +Your Choice'.
I have had this Poppy die for a long time and think it was one of the first I bought. Bright idea to use it with some left over Alco Inked paper and white card.
At this point I think I should make a 'Note to Self' - think about how long it is going to take you to inlay all the fiddly bits before starting!!
I used Raspberry and Red Pepper for the flower heads and Lettuce, Meadow and a teeny bit of Citrus for the stems and base.
Although it took quite a while to piece it all back together (particularly the white bits) I am happy now it's finished! Cut it out using my cross stitch die then popped it back into the original square pice before mounting it onto the base card.
The sentiment was stamped in Certainly Celery and heat embossed and I added a couple of teeny sparklies to finish it off.
Have no plans today excepting to pop over to the Playground to catch up with everyone then make a few more cards! Thanks for stopping by - have a great day whatever you're doing. x

Viv, this is absolutely stunning!! Perfect in every way and so beautifully made. I have that poppies die and take my hat off to you for paper piecing it, a wonderful result although I bet you were almost climbing up the wall doing it! This is a card that shows that less is more and that simple doesn't mean quick and easy. But what a fabulous result!
Your fiddly bits were so worth your time and effort, Viv. I LOVE your sweet, pretty die cut out of an alcohol ink piece. Your inlaid poppies are so beautiful. TFS and joining us at CAS Mix Up. Hugs...
Great inlay work on this one, and I love the xstitching on the square die shape too. Bet it was a bit fiddly with those slender flower stems too. Such pretty bright springtime flowers. Bound to cheer up whomever gets to open this pretty card. TFS
Beautiful poppies in your card and I love that die with the cross stitches as a border.

Wow! Yes, a lot of work to inlay that delicate die, but oh-so worth the effort! This is gorgeous, and I'm pretty excited to learn you've used AI's to color those flowers--genius! I think I've got to pull out the AI's and give them another chance. So pretty!
Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog! Made my day!
