Autumn is here in the north west of England - we have had really strong winds overnight and it's still blowing a gale this morning - had to rescue a few of my pots on the patio which had been battered by the wind. The weather as always though gives me the perfect excuse to shut myself in the craft room - and that's what I intend to do!!
So here's today's share -
A simple and quick birthday card - and it's one layer too, so not too fat for posting!
I fixed my leaf stencil over the card and masked off the bottom using masking tape.
I used Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and using a baby wipe I pressed the colour through the stencil.
Using a wipe instead of a sponge gives a lighter and more delicate colour impression which I really like.
Am popping this into the gallery at CAS Stencil where our theme this month is to use Baby Wipes!
Cut 2 leaves and before removing from the die pressed the inky baby wipe through the die.
Stamped the sentiment, fixed the leaves adding a teeny bit of twine and job done.
Desperate for masculine makes in my stash box so this is the first one done!

This is very effective with the lower part being masked off - clever idea. The leaves are a nice addition alongside the greeting
This is a really great make Viv, love the stencil and the colours you have used and a great touch with the cut leaves.

Gorgeous tones of greens, great stencil and such a striking card x.
Great CAS card Viv....and brilliant idea for those hard male cards. xx
Lovely. Simple yet stunning. [Bunny]
Great effects with the stencil Viv, and using the same to create your leaves is a super idea.. I agree male cards are tricky and always nice to add to that stash, hugs Robyn
A beautiful CAS style card Viv, adding the cut out leaves have added to the stylish look.

I love how you masked your stencil to give your stenciling a creative angle. Also so clever, Viv how you kept your die over the die cut leaves and then added inks with baby wipe. The linen twine bow was the perfect embellishment. TFS your birthday card, my friend. Hugs..Nancy
Looks great and easy to follow instructions.

So stylish! Love how you've used the stencil for both the background and the leaves. Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you join in with future challenges too.
Brilliant idea and I love the resulting card. Hugs Mrs A.
I love the soft green of the stencilling using the baby wipe to apply it Viv, and the two added die cut leaves look great held together with a little piece of twine, and the colour looks great added in the same way. x
Lovely card Viv! This is so soft and delicate with using the baby wipe to add the colours through the stencil. I have not tried this technique yet, but it is on my "to-do" list. Great design with just the top half stenciled and two fussy-cut leaves added. xx
What a lovely stencil you used on this Viv - and a great babywipe technique to get the color on - pretty design with the V edge of stenciling and layered leaves!
Beautiful style
