Inks and Powder

Blue skies and sunshine (but cold) here today after all the rain yesterday - mad when you think just across the Pennines 40 minutes drive away they once again are experiencing floods. Although one of the downsides of living so high up on the top of a moor means you experience high winds πŸ’¨and snow ⛄ the upside is at least you don't get flooded outπŸ’§⛆🌊!

Because the weather was so bad yesterday I spent a very nice cosy time in the craft space doing what I do best - making messy!

I have never tried hot glue embossing but continuing with my decision to try out new techniques and re visit old ones and after seeing a similar card to this on Pinterest the small piece of metal left on the desk from my card here seemed to say 'Use Me'! - So I did!

I ran the metal through an embossing folder and then dropped some Alco Inks on it and simply let them run.

Out with the glue gun! Confess don't use the glue gun a lot (cos I am VERY messy), but am really pleased that I only managed to get the glue where I wanted it and not all over everywhere else!
A few blobs, then gently heated again to make warm, added some gold embossing powder and heated again.
Once finished I matted it onto an off cut of gold card before putting on the card base and stamping the sentiment.
Another 'man' card I think?

Liked doing this technique so the glue gun is still out........😏😏

This is an excellent result and something I might try although I must admit I rarely use my hot glue gun and often forget that hot glue is what it says on the tin - HOT!! Don't ask how I know this.

Almost makes me get out the glue gun. I, too, don't use it much. Very exciting results.

Love the effect on your card. Must admit have only ever used my glue gun a couple of times. I should get out more but not whilst it’s raining.! Hugs Mrs A.

This is a fantastic card for a guy or a gal, Viv! Love the colors and texture! This is a technique I've never tried. Maybe I need to remedy that!

This is fabulous Viv and love the bright AI colours. I have a glue gun too which doesn't see much action so perhaps I will give this a go, and the gold embossing over the'blobs' looks great. x

Ohhh wow love the look totally. Now I need to add to, actually no I need to make a list myself, things to try. Love love the result Viv. Of course my last play with hot glue gun ended with my having a disaster where hot glue ended up on a couple of areas on my fingers and pain and blisters thereafter felt never ending. My husband shook his head and aid something about me and should not be let loose with dangerous goods..... I have a lot of those stories. So maybe I will get him to do the hot glue bit lol.
Have a chat is back xx

Don't know how I missed this beauty, but glad you linked to it with your current post, Viv. I LOVE the alcohol inks ... so gorgeous with the deep colours. The glue with gold embossing adds so much depth and shine. Amazingly artistic card, my friend! xx
