CAS Mix Up August Mid Month Reminder

The move to our  rented accommodation went relatively smoothly - despite it being the hottest day of the year - the poor removal men were melting!
We're surrounded by boxes - and are just waiting for the legal process to complete so we can buy and move into our next home - likely to be another 3-4 weeks at least - which is trying my patience a little.... so dear husband thought it would be a good idea to set me up a small work area (and it IS small compared to what I had!) before I went completely crazy!
He also bought some wireless thingies that plug into the back of the PC so I can get on the internet occasionally!

We found a cardboard box which had some crafting stuff - not much but better than nothing - and as I really wanted to try and join my teamies at CAS Mix Up for the mid month I cobbled together a card!

The challenge set by Jenny is to 'stamp through a stencil' and I used a crackle stamp on my ink blended butterfly, embossing the crackle in Platinum.
The grungy diamond stamp was the only one that I could find in the box that looked OK to highlight the butterfly.

I need to find somewhere where the light is good to take my pics too but at least I managed to make something and stave off the withdrawal symptoms a little - not sure how I will get on with other makes whilst we are in this state of limbo but well see!

I will try and visit everybody when I have a good internet connection and thanks for looking today. x

A beautiful card Viv and bless your Hubby, I’m not sure how I’d cope without my craft room ;). Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly for your next move x

I'm so glad your husband set up a craft space for you! It's such a great stress reliever! You did beautifully with this butterfly and the embossed crackle stamping! A really lovely card, Viv!

Despite the limbo you achieved your goal by making a lovely card. The stenciled butterfly looks great with the crackled embossing. Finding the diamond stamp to show off the butterfly was a stroke of luck.
Admire your fortitude. If I was in your circumstances, I'd be pulling my hair out. Supportive husbands are such a blessing, aren't they?

What a good idea to extend your stamping beyond the stencil Viv, it looks fab!
BTW I have a friend who hails from Oswaldtwistle!

You've done a lovely job with your minimal supplies and at least you've managed to have a 'fix' to stave off the withdrawal symptoms. Good luck with the negotiations to get your housing sorted out.

Nothing 'cobbled' about this beauty, Viv!!
The gold is so beautiful, and quite appropriate as my butterfly's beautiful 'jade' chrysalis have the most beautiful bits of gold on them - wish you could see them for yourself!
Hope all goes well with your move - it is such a stress-filled time!

Oh, Viv, I feel your pain! We have only recently recovered from months of renovation, and my craft room was last. Finished putting it back together yesterday, but now waiting for two more pieces from Wayfair. Oh, if only we had an Ikea nearby! Your card is wanting for nothing as it's so beautiful in its simplicity. Hang in there!

I rather like the grungy diamonds, Viv, and I definitely love the embossed crackle on the butterfly. I've not really moved (I live one place in summer and another in winter) so I do not have all my crafting supplies with me. I also have to make do sometimes. You're doing a great job of it.

I can't imagine how you can create with everything in boxes. You did amazing work as always, but with limited supplies! LOVE the beautiful blended butterfly with the crackle stamping. So cool! And the harlequin strip works so well with your design. Hope all goes well and you'll be in your new place in no time! xx

love the gold crackle embossing in your butterfly and that beautiful distressed diamond background.
Moves are always stressful, I can't imagine dealing with a short term rental in between. Good luck finding the new house ♥

Your stenciled and stamping thru your stencil turned out beautifully, Viv. I am impressed with your working out of boxes until you get moved into your new home. You will have fun setting up a new craft room/area in your new home. TFS my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy

Your 'cobbled' card is very artistic and unique Viv! Glad you at least were able to find a space to get creative... Hope all goes well for you.

I love the gold crackle on the butterfly - it certainly doesn't look cobbled. Well done to you in crafting when life sounds very chaotic. Hope everything goes OK with the move.

I think this card is pretty special despite your limited supplies. that is the perfect stencil for the technique. I am glad one move is done, that means you are making progress, but I don't envy you at all. Moving once is bad enough but moving twice in a matter of weeks is mind boggling. Sounds like you are doing pretty well really xx

WOW! Amazing job with your limited supplies, I love the crackle stamping detail on the butterfly.
Like you, we moved during the recent hot weather ..... it was hard work! Hope you get everything sorted soon. Good luck with the new house xx

I think your hubby was right setting up a little crafting corner for you. It can be fun creating with limitid supplies, that's how we all started out, right? The grungy look is quite cool:)

This is very pretty and with limited supplies you did brilliantly Viv, and love the crackle stamping within the butterfly, and tghe grunge diamond stamping goes beautifully. It is difficult to craft under these circumstances but will at least take your mind off the whys and wherefores of the moving process. I hope it is not too long before you are settled in your permanent home. x
