Ups and Downs

It has been a few weeks of ups and downs so unsurprisingly I've not felt like doing anything.
DOWN - The purchase of the house we have been trying to buy since May has fallen through with the buyer (after weeks of messing us about and running up our solicitors bill) deciding he didn't want to sell it after all.  I have had some not very nice and very uncharitable thoughts about this person.
UP -  The search for another home proved fruitful and we made an offer which was accepted.
DOWN - The lady selling has not yet found somewhere else to live so we are stuck here in the rented house for several more months.
UP - Trying to make the best of things we set to and shifted some of the cardboard boxes and other stuff which were surrounding us in the room where we had temporarily put the work desks and my storage shelves were put back together. OK the other room is like Cardboard Mountain but here in what is now the 'Office' and 'Craftie Space' is tidy and I have rescued some more (not all) of my stash from the packed cases.

I just fiddled about a bit and made this slimline card using pastel coloured DI's, a Flourish stencil and a stamp that was free with a mag eons ago.
The sentiment is from an Altenew set.

So that's the update from here - and I now have a stable internet connection too which means I can have some time visiting you all. Thanks for looking today! x

Dearest Viv my heart goes out to you. You have been so unlucky x. So glad you can see some 'ups' to your situation x. Stay positive my friend x.

Poor Viv, this sounds like a very trying time my heart goes out to you. I've never understood why the UK is so behind in selling houses and a contract not being legally binding. there needs to be a financial implication like the loss of a deposit as in other countries :(
Your card is so pretty, wonderful stenciling on the background ♥

Hi Viv...so very sorry for you ad I can appreciate how angry, upset and disappointed you must be feeling. Your card though is lovely, pat on the back for creating. That stamp fits so well with the slimline card and the sentiment is truly lovely too. Hugs xx

Oh Viv, that is a lot of ups and downs. I hope in the long run you will be very happy in your new home and glad that the original seller pulled out, but what a trauma. Your card is beautiful, I love the soft background colours against the black silhouette xx

Oooh, that sure sounds like a real rollercoaster ride. But once settled in your new home, it will be worth it.
I have this stamp too, used it only once or twice even though I love it, mainly becuase of its size. But it's perfect for a slimline layout! Thanks for the inspiration.

Damn it!! That is so disappointing Viv. I'm happy that you have found another place, but with it being in the future, you've made the best of the situation with getting the packed things out of sight and your crafting area ready to play. And a beautiful card you made too. Love the soft colours and the beautiful silhouette image. Fabulous sentiment that is just perfect for cheering someone up.

Hope the rest goes smoothly and you will be in your new place soon. Love and hugs, Loll

Oh Viv... I'm so sorry for your "downs"... What a blow. I remember the house thing happening to me once and my solicitor saying at the time that the house was not meant for me. He couldn't have been more right... Here's hoping in time you find the same. With all that you still made a beautiful uplifting card.

Hi Viv, long time no contact. Still making lovely cards I see, I only make the occasional one now, I have moved onto different art. I hope you are both well and bearing up under the stress of trying to move and COVID. I still have my first ever ACD which was from you.
