Bonnie has set this months challenge at CAS Mix Up.
It is mixed media time this month and she chose the theme of BOTANICAL PRINTS.
I had only ever tried this once before and my results weren't brilliant so was a little apprehensive, but I watched some more tutorials and took the plunge!
I wanted to try a different colour than the usual Autumn shades so turned to one of my fave colours - Grape Jelly.
As my Big Shot is still packed away, I just inked the leaves and popped them alongside each other, took another piece of card and just pressed down.
Held my breath when I lifted off the card and leaves but was amazed to find that the impressions were really not bad at all!
Linen textured card, die cut frame, a little bit of ink dusting, some watercolour shading and job done.
The Design Team have some simply beautiful makes using different methods of getting these prints, please pay them a visit and we have Guest Designer Izzy (Izzy Scrap), who has also made a stunning contribution to our challenge this month!
So put your coat on, go outside, grab some leaves and come and join us!

These leaves are so pretty in purple, I love how you have given them a shadow and a lovely background. They look like they are standing to attention. You can't help but smile looking at this xx

How pretty the leaf prints are using the Grape Jelly ink Viv, and I love the frame and bit of ground shading and background colour. x

What a gorgeous card Viv - and you used one of my favourite ink pads as well. As always, so elegant. However, if you think I'm putting even one toe outside right now to look for leaves then think again. It's piddling down here, as well as cold and windy!

You succeeded with those real leaf prints, and great call going for a different and unusual color choice. Beautiful clean design.
Simply love the way your leaves appear to be standing straight up as if to say, "just look at me". And using that amazing color rather than autumnal colors was completely brilliant...love those luscious purple-y shades. I'd say this card was a true success.

What a beautiful effect with the fun technique Viv. The colours of the rose leaves look so pretty and so is your gentle background. Great framing and love the texture of the linen card too x.
OMG, this is brilliant ! Such a beautiful CAS design and what a clever idea to ground your gorgeous printed leaves with watercolour shadow and this subtle and delicate ink blending. what a wonderful clear print you achieved inking your leaves Viv! They look like two little soldiers standing there - quite magical!
This is lovely Viv and I have to say that you did a much better job than I did using just water colour ink. Such a clear impression, so well done you x
