Mid Month CAS Mix Up

It's mid month reminder time for the challenge at CAS Mix Up. This mixed media month has the theme of BOTANICAL PRINTS.
This is a fun technique and although I am struggling to have any inspiration for card making, I did enjoy the theme set by Bonnie.
Lots of gorgeous examples from the Design Team though and our special Guest Designer Izzy along with some video tutorials all on the blog!

As I steered away from Autumn shades in my launch card, I used them on this one but opted for the duller brown shade rather than the vibrant red and orange with which we always relate this time of year to.
This botanical print was done with leaves from a rather large oak tree which sits at the bottom of the path in this rental house.

I used Espresso Truffle ink to get the impression.

Some soft ink blending for a bit of background interest and matted onto brown card.

The acorns were from a free set with a magazine, stamped, embossed, watercoloured and fussy cut then I added some glossy accents to make them shine.

I apologise for the poor picture which really looks rather 'flat' and doesn't show the colours very well at all - there simply isn't a place anywhere here with good light to take images - soooo frustrating!

Thanks for looking and hope you will join us this month. x

Doesn't that technique give such wonderful detail. I love this, the brown of the leaves looks fabulous against your soft inked background. The colours work so well together. It must look really amazing in real life if you think the picture is flat xx

You couldn't have made a more perfect Fall card. From the lovely oak leaves to those sweet acorns the card screams Autumn . Using brown to mat the scene and the brown sentiment adds to the warmth beautifully.

Two super oak leaves Viv and great coordination with the leaves and acorns, and the pretty background scene with the suns glow on the horizon is just perfect. x

Love your card Viv. I like your leaf prints and your fabulous acorns. Yes shorter days...I like Autumn for the colours but not for the darkness and the winter it precedes. xx

Nothing wrong with using the brown shades. Your card is "late" autumn leaves and it is perfect with the sentiment.

I admire how you made a landscape of the oak tree and setting sun with the acorns adding a beautifully balanced touch. The art and skill shows through no matter the light. I hope you get to move into your house soon.

Your oak leaf prints are beautiful with all the detail, Viv! Love them over top of the softly sponged hill with sun peeking out. The acorns are a wonderful embellishment. xx

These leaves look more like what we see in the Fall, Viv! So far a few yellows and a lot of brown. But they speak beautifully of the season too! Love your imprints and background! Hope your path to a new permanent home is progressing, my friend!

These are super prints Viv, I found it quite tricky to get a decent print, my specimens didn't want to stay still so that I could get a clear print! Yours are fab!
