Gilded

I haven't played with Gilding Flakes for a while - mainly because I am messy at the best of times and gilding flakes are really not something I should be allowed to get my hands on.😳

I did though manage not to have too much of the stuff floating about the place this time - a minor miracle!

I have used both of these stamps before (card is HERE) but thought I would try the flakes with the same stamps to see what it looked like.

The verdict is - not too bad at all considering I am a 'flaky' novice!

The bird house is a really old stamp from Chocolate Baroque formerly Elusive Images.

I decided at the time that adding more foliage was probably a step too far as no doubt I wouldn't have got it positioned right but on reflection maybe I should have been brave as the bird house does look a little lonely on just a gold line drawn thread.....

And typical me - the black card I used wasn't big enough for my normal size makes so the gold strip was added - which I think finishes it better - so happy necessity!

I love the look of those gilded stamps on black, it is really classy and brings out the detail especially on the birdhouse. A lovely card. I am the same with gilding flakes, but you have made me want to get mine out again xx

I've never heard of gliding flakes before and I couldn't tell from the final product that you're a novice. Thanks for joining us at Use Your Stuff

Gilding flakes do have a habit of floating around all over the place but I like what you've done here. I have the birdhouse stamp from way back - about time I brought some of my older stamp sets to the fore and maybe also the gilding flakes which I've been hoarding 😉😉

Those flakes just sparkle against the black c/s. I know what you mean about gilding flakes. My grandson said "what's this" as he popped open my jar and they were everywhere!

I am the same way with gilding flakes, Viv! As soon as I open the pot they start flying everywhere! But they sure did your birdhouse and bird up beautifully and I love the gold piece along the side! A very elegant card, my friend!

I do have this CB stamp set and it looks so elegant and beautiful in black with the gold flake added over the stamped images Viv, and I think the gold strip down the edge is the perfect finishing touch. x
