CAS MIX UP JUNE CHALLENGE

CAS Mix Up is back this month after our extended break. The challenge this time has been set by Loll and is a Stencil one using 'Gels and/or Pastes'. I really hope you can join us and don't forget to make your entry CAS!

I started by using a masked off square and lightly inked using Twisted Citron blending outwards, then took another stencil and lightly brushed shades of pink and green round the square.
My Cherry Blossom stencil is by Indigo Blu. I wanted a shiny effect for the blossom so used some heavy structure gel first which dries clear but leaves a raised impression.

Once dry I sponged (very carefully!) a deep pink over the flowers and a light brown for the branches.

Finished with a few Gold Pearl drops for the flower centres.

It has a wonderful shine in real life and although it doesn't show very well in the photo, the structure gel has given a good dimension.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

There are some gorgeous makes from my buddies on the DT over at the challenge blog and our guest designers Jules and Darnell. I am looking forward to seeing your creations in our gallery too!

Viv, I've been following you around commenting today, so I thought I'd better stop by to see what you've created - so happy you're back.
I adore Cherry Blossoms - your 'sponged' color is so pretty and you have the touch of a surgeon!
Gorgeous stencil and beautiful colors there, and words to live by...

Hi Viv...isn't it great to be back? I have so missed being inspired by our awesome CAS Mix Up DT, GDs and our friends in our gallery! I LOVE your pretty dainty stenciled cherry blossoms with the added heavy structure gel. I thought your photo showed up beautifully the raised texture from your gel. Loved the sweet stenciled background and perfect sentiment too. TFS your beauty, my friend and your detailed description. Love and Hugs...Nancy

Lovely to see CAS Mix Up back Viv and haven't you wowed us with this beauty! Your design really has captured that softness of petals flying in the breeze like confetti and the blossom looks so delicate.

Have just caught up with your moving in stories and it sounds like the garden is coming on a treat! Sorry I haven't been around much but really busy at work :/ Vicky x

This is so so pretty Viv and I love the super stencilling as a border around the flowers and just fading it out looks great, and then the delightful green coordinating background behind the flowers stencilled with the clear paste and with sponged colour over the top when dry gives a wonderful finish..a lovely sentiment too. x
