Far from the Madding Crowd

We're still under local restrictions. And no sign of it abating. I am finding it very difficult to not get angry with those who think they can just do as they want - for example 100 people at a wedding indoors and less than a week later approx 200 people caught by a Police helicopter's infra red camera at a garden party.  Words fail me.

The 'Beach' challenge is still ongoing at CAS Mix Up so I am adding this to the gallery which has some beautiful beachy inspired makes so far and there is still a couple of days left if you want to come and join us!

I've had this stamp for a while and it's never seen ink. When I looked at it, I thought how perfect it would be to be miles away from all the madness that is currently going on especially here where I live.
Far from the Madding Crowd indeed.

The pic quality is poor I am afraid, the sky is a pale sunkissed blue which doesn't show up at all. I clear embossed after stamping.

We have had some very strong winds the last few days - yesterday was bright and sunny though today is rather wet!

Outside I have been nurturing a Stargazer Lily in a pot and it had grown nearly as tall as me and just begun to flower when the strong winds arrived.
On Wednesday morning it was lying face down on the patio having been blown over and looking very sad. Graham went and picked it up and brought it inside - it is now in my lounge- (well away from walls and furniture) - but it has rewarded me by completely bursting into bloom!
The scent is obviously overpowering but I am real pleased as being up here on the top keeping flowers is a bit of a challenge to say the least, if it's not the rain it's strong winds even in summer and mostly a combination of both!

Sharing my card with -

Have a great day whatever you're doing. x

Lovely beach scene and great that you managed to rescue that beautiful lily. Words fail me at the stupidity and thoughtlessness of some people and all just so they can have 'fun'. Makes a mockery out of those of us who stay at home and abide by the rules. Sorry - rant over 🙄

Love that beach scene and the sentiment. I agree with you, there are far too many stupid people about at the moment. Just stay home and make cards, that's my motto. What an amazing lily plant so sad that it got blown over but it looks to have survived it well. The wind is battering my garden as I type

Your post makes me so happy Viv! First, pink is my favourite colour and that's because stargazer lilies are my favourite flower!! I LOVE them. Your pot is bursting all right. Amazing flowers, colours ... and I can just image the scent!

I love your beachy scene. I have this same image and have had it for years. It's fun to colour and creates a very relaxing and peaceful scene. Something we all need right now.

We are having the same problem here with young adults not following the rules and our Covid numbers rising. Why don't people have more sense and also think of others rather than just themselves??!! it's beyond me. Hope things get better for you soon. Love, Loll

We had bad gales in the night and all Norms tomato plants got blown over. Loads of green tomatoes on the ground this morning. Sunny today but still very high winds. Glad to hear that you managed to rescue your Lily. What a super number of blooms on it. Card is super.Should have been away now doing just that but holidays are off. I just wish the idiots would realise that too. More are rushing to get back home now before the Saturday deadline. Just when are they going to learn. Abide by the rules and we will all get through it.
Hugs Mrs A.

Such a beautiful relaxing scene & the sentiment is perfect! Gorgeous flowers - lucky you rescued them! We are under very strict lockdown here, even with a curfew from 8pm - 5am. It feels like Victoria is a different country from the rest of Australia:(

We have the same problem with people gathering here, Viv. They opened colleges and universities and they gathered and they have the virus among themselves and others. It's so frustrating and keeps us from being able to move forward through this trying time!

Your lilies are a bright spot in a crazy world. And your beautiful beach scene is a reminder that our treasured places are still there and we will be able to enjoy them again! One day...

I am so with you on this subject of not distancing and not wearing masks... In fact not giving anyone else a second thought. These morons have obviously never had any discipline in their lives... But enough... I'm off to find that gorgeous scene you created as it looks available and people free..

I think we all long for how things used to be... I’m glad I’ve got card making as a hobby. Seeing your beautiful card makes me want to go somewhere hot but where’s there’s also air condition. Great coloring and CAS style.
