Just Beachy

I originally made this card for the challenge at CAS Mix Up which is a watercolour one with the theme of  'Beach'.
But when I'd finished it I decided that the watercoloured panel which was a die cut piece lying on the desk, was too big and there wasn't a lot of white space left so did other cards for the challenge!

This one is completely different to my launch card (which is here) - but I enjoyed trying my hand again at watercolouring a background!

When I was a child, my Mum used to take me to the beach as a rare treat - whenever I see a beach hut I always remember how I loved them then - with their bright colours standing like sentries in a row!

After watercolouring (and patting myself on the back because I managed to actually paint the fence freehand 😊) I did a little stamping to create mounds of sand and grass.

The beach huts were stamped, coloured then fussy cut all from small scraps of card!

The (old had it years) distressed style sentiment stamp reminded me of driftwood and just seemed to sum up my feelings of the time spent with my Mum on warm sunny days in the sand.

Thanks for looking today - and I hope you are having 'Happy Days' wherever you are! x

love that watercolouring and wonderful beach huts. My family had a beach hut when I was a child so long hours were spent there in all weathers too xx

That lovely scene certainly conjures up days spent at the coast - beach huts are such cheerful looking images, can almost hear the sounds and smell the smells!!

Well yes not really CAS but that is so open to interpretation! I love your watercolour piece the fence is brilliant as are the little dunes and tufts of grass. The seaside is a very big part of my life cannot imagine not living near the sea and think I know those beach huts! x

Your card reflects the fun times you had at the beach Viv. Love the brightly coloured huts and beautifully watercoloured sand and sky. The sentiment looks perfect with the distressed look. Always great when you can make a card the brings back happy memories. Thanks for sharing, my friend! xx

I love this gorgeous card Viv, it brings back so many memories for me. When we were kids we used to go to Swanage for our holidays and always rented a beachhut for the week we were there. No having to carry the stuff to the beach every day and somewhere to put a camping stove so the adults could have their cup of tea and at the end of the week everything go piled into the car ready to go home again.

What a refreshing setting for those fun beach huts. I love the depth of this beautiful background, great job! Definitely Happy Days. Kind of hard keeping it CAS for a beach, I agree. This is still special.
Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

Beach huts are synonymous with the seaside and love your brilliant sandy shore and pretty light and bright blue sky Viv, and of course there must be some gulls flying about too. The sentiment fits the card perfectly. x

Beautiful creation Viv...I can just see those seagulls...it would be lovely to sit and have the breeze from the sea...but keeping well away from the coast.
