Today's card was one of those where you start by just trying things out and see if it looks OK.
I silver embossed this recently bought Crafty Individuals 'Winter Garden' (CI-425) stamp onto a piece of vellum and then double embossed the sparkler flower heads with some gold.I think this is such a pretty stamp and it will likely appear again in the not too distant future!
I had done a few square backgrounds using trees and a tiny deer stamp for some quick cards and they were in a small pile on the desk ready to go onto card bases - I put the newly embossed vellum piece over one of them.
I was quite happy with how it looked although the top right corner looked a little bare so I found a corner flourish (old old old) and silver embossed it.
Card done!
Does anyone remember Woodware making a product called 'Miracle Adhesive Film'? I bought a few packs of this probably more than 10 years ago now - it was specifically for use with vellum.
Sadly I have been unable to source it for several years but it really was brilliant to use for sticking vellum down completely transparently. I have yet to find any make of glue or tape that works as well.
As I now only have a few small sheets left I cut some small pieces for the corners instead of using the entire sheet - save as much as I can!
UPDATE 28TH OCTOBER - Thank you to my lovely visitors who have found a company in the UK who still have a few packs of this in stock. The power of blogland!!

We have another wet, windy and miserable day so with the ironing done and a (very) quick flick of the duster it's off to the inky space for me! Have a great day whatever you're doing. x

Absolutely stunning!
Absolutely beautiful.xxx
Love the effect of the embossed vellum over the scene underneath. Sticking vellum down without glue showing is seriously a problem and I don't think there is a product which does the trick. Most of the parchment cards I've made (and ones I've seen) are put together using small brads which isn't always successful depending on the design. I've never seen the Woodware product.
This is beautiful, I love the effect with the deer behind the vellum, Hazelx
This is stunning. Love the look you have created. Have sent you an email. Hugs Mrs A.
A fabulous result
This has turned out brilliantly. Yes, I remember that film, I have some that I had forgotten about, so thanks for the reminder. It is funny how you can use something regularly and then just stop and not really know why!
Wow, this is Absolutely stunning! I love everything about it. I have this CI stamp but I’ve haven’t used it very much but boy, have you inspired me with this card. I love, love, love it Viv xx

I have had some luck with running entire piece of vellum through Xyron to adhere.
You are way ahead of me, I don't even get a flick out of my duster.
My first thought.. WOW, what a great effect, a really super card and the embossing is fabulous and so is the design.

Beautiful card, Viv! I'd loved to have seen the deer/tree card underneath as well. Glad you found your source, vellum is really hard to glue without being seen.
So beautiful with the vellum layer and stamped card base. A clever design. Not easy with glue and vellum, I’ve often found myself stitching the layers together...
