Twofer April Challenge

Twofer's April word prompt is 'Leaves'.
I used a rarely seen daylight stamp and die set  from Thirsty Brush to make my two cards - and although there are some flowers on the stamp I hope there's enough leaves to fulfil the challenge!

This was my first use of black watercolour card and despite me using an anti static bag across it, I still managed to get little white specks from the embossing powder!

I recently bought some metallic watercolours to try  - they didn't cost a lot so I wasn't expecting great results but I have to say I was impressed with them - the shine on them is good and they were great value for the money!

Finished this card with a few spots of Perfect Pearls for the berries and the flower centres.

My second card used the die set.
Painted the image with watercolours and popped it onto the card base with some 3d foam tape.
I stamped another of the leaf designs from the set and die cut.
A few paint spatters and a big sentiment and job done!

We've had some lovely Spring weather the last few days. It's lifted the spirits being out in the sunshine without a coat and watching the plants and trees burst into life.
Here's a pic of my two cards together

and a little pic of the shine from the paints!

What a glorious effect with the black water colour cardstock and those shiny paints on those amazing leaves/flowers. A real stunner of a card Viv x. Such a contemporary and eye catching Birthday card with the prettiest of colouring and loving those splats x. Enjoy the milder weather x.

There are some beautiful leaves in this stamp Viv and love the coppery, gold and silver shiny look using these metallic watercolours and so striking on the black watercolour cardstock. The second card looks beautiful with the flowers and leaves just showing as a border along the bottom and just a couple more leaves cut out and added in a line with the lovely large sentiment, and some lovely soft splattering to finish. Fantastic Twofers! x

Now if you hadn't mentioned those specks Viv, I'd never have noticed! This looks stunning on the black and you've reminded me that I have some watercolour metallics that haven't seen a brush. I didn't even know you could get black watercolour paper. How different your second card looks in the different colours...beautifully CAS in comparison!

Plenty of leaves on this gorgeous stamp and die set, Viv! I love the look of the metallic coloring on the black and appreciate the inspiration because I recently purchased some of that black w/c paper! And I love the loose watercoloring and colors you used on your beautiful birthday design! Thank you for playing in TCC #37! Hugs, Darnell

This is a beautiful stamp and looks so dramatic on the black. A perfect contrast to the soft colours on your second card. Love the splatters! Alison Twofer GD

Gosh. How totally different these two cards look. So in love with the black card. I have some metallic water colours collecting dust somewhere that at the time I just had to buy. So much stuff so little time to play with it all.
