Watercolour and twigs and Thank You!

A quick and simple card - so quick and simple I made a batch of them!
Watercoloured using Distress Oxides, then when dry stamped the twigs.

I resisted the temptation to put berries on them using Nuvo drops as I quite liked them stark and bare. The stamp is by Inkylicious called unsurprisingly 'Willow Twigs'!

One of the things you realise when you're in a confined space is that it really isn't a good idea to spatter your Posca Pen without covering up anything close by - I am currently typing this onto a snowstorm covered keyboard and viewing it through a snowy screen!

I had several small scraps of white card lying about so simply tore them all up and laid over the bottom of the watercolours, then stamped the sentiment (Stampin Up). Altogether I made 8 cards!

As each card only has one tiny snippet I am not sure if Miss Di will allow me to visit the Playground but am linking up and if not she can send me to the naughty step and give me detention!!

Am sure everyone's as fed up as me over my house move saga, so will only say we've not had much movement apart from a suggested date but nothing definite -and it ain't for a few weeks yet cos apparently solicitors (unlike the rest of us mere mortals) have to have extended Christmas holidays... enough said.

I will try and visit everyone in blogland before Christmas Day, but if I don't manage it, I want to wish you all a peaceful, happy Christmas surrounded by everything that is special to you.

Thank you all for sticking with me, particularly the last 6 months which have at times been a hard slog for me, I REALLY appreciate you all, your comments have kept me going.

Christmas wishes everyone and stay safe. xx

A lovely card and the snow looks great, but just on the card, not everywhere else! I feel your pain about moving as I have been waiting for a decision about replacing my roof by the insurance company since June. It's either yes or no, I don't understand the holdup. Merry Christmas to you and may 2022 be a great year for you.

Just love the simplicity of this and the colours are great. I'm sure Miss Di won't be giving you detention - a snippet is a snippet 😉😉, Wishing you a safe and wonderful Christmas and here's hoping the New Year will bring you good news once the solicitors return from their extende3d break. Hugs Val xx

That is a GORGEOUS festive card Viv . . . no wonder you were pleased with it and made 8 of them! Top marks. Might have to get my inks out later now you've inspired me!

I wish you all the best for a Happy Christmas mate . . . and an even better New Year with a new home of your own. Fingers firmly crossed on that one!

PS: There's plenty of mulled wine, sausage rolls and mince pies available up in the Playground Treehouse if you've a mind to climb the rope ladder!

I think this card is great, so effective. That is the best type simple and easy to reproduce. I am the same with splatter, I can never be bothered to prepare the area properly and always get it everywhere except where I want it. Hang in there your move will happen eventually. Merry Christmas to you too xx

What a beautiful serene scene and such wonderful watercolouring in the background and the torn white card for the snow works brilliantly..love the splatters too, and I agree that spattering can be a very messy process. Thank you for your visits to my blog and understand how frustrating and difficult the last few months have been for you, and hope that the new year brings good news on the moving front. Merry Christmas Viv! x

Wowser Viv - fabulous card and who cares about a few splatters with a result like this? BTW, right now my comments are moderated but will be changing shortly.

Great card, Viv. The simple design is so effective. Hope it won't be too long before you get some good news about a definite date for your house move. xx

You've done a beautiful background that is perfect for these twigs! I have to laugh about your Posca snowstorm. I actually had it on my shirt and the table the last time I tried to splatter on my workspace! Will we ever learn? I hope the New Year finds you finally settling into your "forever" home.

Gorgeous colours for your watercoloured background Viv! The twig branches are so beautiful and the falling snow is the perfect finishing touch. I know what you mean about splattering. I always have to clean off my hands, arms, and usually my glasses as well. :)

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and looking forward to the new year with lots of crafty time! xx

While your card is fantastic and beautiful, I feel horrible for your screen and keyboard! Hope you're able to clean it. Keep your head up, treat yourself, and anticipate the blessing your house will finally be.

The splatter makes a big difference, so well worth it, even though having it ending up everywhere. I splatter inside of a plastic bag to reduce the mess, at least most of the time:) Beautiful, peaceful scenery.
