Catching Hearts!

My goodness it has been so cold this last week! I know many in other parts of the world experience arctic conditions much worse and for longer periods but here it is so unusual for it to be sub zero for so many consecutive days.

Thankfully this morning, although still cold it is a little warmer than it has been and the forecast is for it to get higher temps in the coming week - but we're to have rain!
So not sure which is the best, cold and ice with bright blue skies or warm and wet but grey overhead!

Whilst making this (another Pinterest inspired card) I thought how cold this poor fairy's bum must have been sat on the snowy floor.....  😨😄 (I resisted the temptation to outline it in white!)

There were a couple of things that perhaps I could have done better -
I was irritated that I didn't manage to align the hanging string when extending the dangling heart but don't think it looks too bad (if you don't inspect it closely!👀🙈)
and I don't think the 'grass' stamped at the bottom of the pine cone spray was the best idea but I will know for next time!

Despite several different stamps this really didn't take too long to do and overall I am contented with how it turned out.
I am now finished with making my Christmas cards!

I think the very same things. I recently made a card and added something to the front that is glued down and so crooked. What was I thinking, it was fine before I added more. The grass looks fine and I figure the wind blew the string a bit wonky. It is a beautiful card and good for you being finished. Our bitter cold is coming this week so send your warm up this way, please.

Well you've been at it again...another fab card Viv. I am disappointed there will be no more.... As for the grass ans string...well I thought the grass was just an extension of the wreath anyway and the string is elastic..fairy pulled it and as it bounced up and down maybe a tiny knot got caught in it...fairies fault...she should have left it alone..lol! It's fine and it's a beautiful card...get cracking on next years now. If I was near I would be round for a crafty session. Hugs xx

We would never have noticed if you hadn't told us. I think it is beautiful and your shading for the snow as worked perfectly and the fairy wings look stunning. We now have rain here, I can hear it on the window as I write. I am very glad to see the back of the cold. It is the ice that is a problem for me as I like to go walking every day xx

We are always critical of our own work and until you pointed them out I'd not noticed those 'imperfections' - I'd just seen a lovely Christmas scene. It has been ultra cold this past week and just when we'd become used to milder winters. Bet that fairy has a numb bum 🤣🤣🥶. Have a good Christmas.

It's a beautiful card Viv and we wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. I had to laugh at your fairy's cold bum. I bet it was a bit numb.

Your card is lovely Viv. The string looks ok to me but then I have just downed a glass of wine. Thankyou for your super card that has arrived bewteen the postal strikes. Still waiting to see todays post arrive if not then it will be a no goer as they are striking again for two days. The moral of the story is don't get sick, don't travel and don't try sending christmas cards! Apart from that have a lovely christmas. Hugs Mrs A.

Like you I am so pleased that it is warmer, and the weather has been settled since we had more than a day of rain, and hope that even it it isn't as bright it will be less chilly to be out and about in. I love your cute fairy, and I think these magical beings just don't feel the cold anywayt, and the arch of foliage and cones and the heart hanging off of it makes a great focal image, and a totally delightful scene. I hope you have a great Christmas Viv and I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful cards in 2023. x

You are too critical, Viv! This is a lovely card! I hope this little fairy has on insulated tights! Her wings are so sparkly and beautiful!

What a beautiful scene you’ve put together using different stamps. Don’t worry about the string, it doesn’t ruin any at all, wouldn’t have thought of it even, if you hadn’t mentioned it. Personally I do appreciate little things like that, it shows it’s handmade. The coloring is really well done too. I hope your enjoying Christmas.
