Old Technique Revisited!

Some time ago I had a go at this technique -  some call it Belleek and some call it Letterpress. Either way it is simple to do and I like the effect!

My first try at this some time ago didn't turn out too bad but the ink transfer was patchy in places so I had to cut the panel down and made a small framed window card.
This time I was a little more successful so I used the whole panel!

The ink is Stampin Up's Daffodil Delight - yellow is not usually my colour but I quite like this.
I finished it with a simple stamped sentiment.

The challenge at Allsorts is 'Flowers All Over' and am hoping that my deep embossed floral design counts - If it doesn't am sure someone will tell me!

Apart from the once weekly trip to see Mum in law, we are still not venturing out much at all - we're in an area where we are surrounded by other areas that are experiencing 'spikes' in virus numbers.
I am also struggling with wearing a face mask (try as I might I cannot get used to it and feel like I can't breathe) so shopping now is something done only when we absolutely have to and most of the time I opt to go for a walk and OH braves the supermarket for us and our elderly neighbours!

I hope everyone is safe and well and thanks for coming along to see me - I REALLY don't know what I would do without Blogland! x

Well Viv, there are certainly 'Flowers all over' so to me it definitely fits the challenge and a lovely take on the challenge too. Love the use of the yellow and it has a great effect. Thank you for joining our 'Flowers all over' challenge at Allsorts.

Does look stunning in the yellow. I have so many embossing folders and I just do not use them and it is such a shame as the results can look really good on a card. I have made The Doc and I several face masks. I found a pattern on You Tube that came in 24 sizes and by taking three facial measurements you can tailor make your mask to fit your own face. The style is really comfortable and fits snugly but also breathable when wearing. Have only been out once so far to the dentist and have a hair appt in a couple of weeks but other than that I am staying in my garden. Managing to get shopping on line now on a regular basis so no need to venture out. Am becoming quite the hermit but better to feel safe than sorry. All these spikes here and abroad are becoming worrying. Blogger transferred me over to the new interface last night right in the middle of me tying to get the new butterfly challenge up and running so I shot straight back into my comfort zone. Had a look again today and it doesn't look to be so different. Lots of buttons and whistles to push though and it doesn't seem to give much guidance on where everything is. Hugs Mrs A.

This certainly fulfils the challenge and it is very pretty - a nice 'pop' of sunshine. I've not braved the shops yet.

That bright yellow really makes the flowers pop and it's lovely. I agree with the face masks. I feel like I can't breathe either and I don't go out. I do know though that we are keeping ourselves and other people safe by wearing them and how important it is. I just can't so I stay in. Simple solution for me! But boring. I'm glad that you have OH to shop for you.

I love the deep embossing with the yellow background, Viv! I didn't have the best results with this technique when I tried it years ago. Might be time to give it a try here again! The masks are not comfortable, especially here with the heat and humidity. Better than Covid, I guess. Fortunately I don't need to go out often.

Lovely card, wonderfully bright and happy yellow! I love this technique, and I too have not done it for awhile but it brings sweet memories of a phone chat while we did this very technique! Thanks for the trip down memory lane

This looks so effective Viv - definitely worth the revisit. I can't imagine doing it with SU ink..I can imagine it would be a lot easier with Distress Oxides but that's probably the lazy crafter coming out in me!

I love yellow but don’t use it hardly as much as I should. Very pretty embossed pattern, very detailed, yet your card has a lovely clean feel to it.

I had forgotten that technique Viv, your card looks stunning. Like you we are still staying home, I do all my shopping on line,Supermarket once a fortnight and a local village shop each week for fresh goods, they have been a life saver for us! Our village shop reopened last week but I went in once with a mask on and had to come straight out again!

This is so pretty Viv and this folder with these wonderful flowers is the perfect for this technique, and it has worked perfectly, and love the contrast with the white on black sentiment strip. I have not been to food shop since they bought in the wearing of masks in shops, but hubby has been to the local shop and into town a bit but he says he takes the mask off as soon as he gets out of the shop. I just can't face wearing one but will have to brave it soon I guess. We are lucky here in the south west as the number of cases is extremely low so haven't felt too afraid, but have restricted our excursions to places where we can walk without the crowds. x
