Resistance was futile!

We have all done it.
We have all seen a stamp set and wanted it.
We have all tried to convince ourselves that 'want' is the same as 'need'.
We have all tried to resist the purchase
We have all failed!!
And so it was with this - wanted it, didn't need it, shall probably not use it a lot - but couldn't resist it cos it made me smile so bought it!
In terms of will power I have none whatsoever when it comes to stamp buying.
All common sense goes out of the window - I try my hardest to justify the spend saying it can be used for lots of different occasions (even when it so obviously cannot), or by kidding myself that it was a bargain (most of the time it isn't) when the simple fact is that I just want it to stamp with (a lot of the times just once too!)

I coloured these 'stole my heart' Stamping Bella Bubble Chicks with watercolours after clear embossing.
I coloured the bubbles a little too and then when dry attacked them with glossy accents. They have a really high shine - the sentiment simply makes me happy.

All that said will I use this set a lot? Probably not, but at least it has seen ink once!

PS - It's also amazing how used you get to using clear stamps and my trusty Misti. These stamps are rubber mounted and I had a couple of failed positioning attempts before I got one right!

Hope you are all well in your corner of blogland and thanks for visiting me today. x

I totally identify with your words about buying stamps and if you'd said stamps and dies and indeed most things crafty you would have described me to a 'T'. Love this fun card but I guess you are right - flowers or butterflies would have maybe been more versatile. It made me smile anyway.

I can see why you wanted this stamp set Viv it’s great and love the card you’ve made.. yep we are all guilty of ‘not needing’ things but just wanting...but I think to myself I don’t drink or smoke so why not... I’ve got stamp that I’ve bought like that and probably only used a couple of times...

I couldn't agree more about absolutely everything you said Viv....And sometimes they are bought and then not used!
So glad that this stamped set was inked up Viv, as it is adorable. I love how you did the fun bubbles, the sentiment if fun and your card is super cute...I love it x.
I agree about your last comment too about rubber stamps and clear ones and how much we rely on the Misti now x.

I have the same problem, Viv! And I gave in for the dies too...and had a wonderful time playing with them. If you ever need a pick me up, just pull out this set of stamps. Even if you don't stamp them, they'll give you a chuckle. And maybe keep a bottle of bubbles on hand! Your card makes me smile!

Amen! This is adorable and I see why you wanted it.The coloring is so pretty and those bubbles are awesome. I always say "The only thing I spend money on is food and stamps and if I don't stop, I'll be on food stamps".

My excuse is that buying stamps is good for my mental health! These are very cute Viv - lovely colouring. And I totally agree with you about the clear stamp thing - I have terrible problems positioning red rubber stamps now!

I love this gorgeous card and the bubbles. I can so identify with you Viv, I have so many stamps and stash that I just had to have. In fact I am clearing out a lot of these buys from over the years and selling them on at the moment. The sad part is that most of these stamps have never seen an ink pad.

I know what you mean about wanting not needing and I have done exactly the same thing Viv. I can see why you were drawn to these cute little chicks riding and blowing their bubbles and love the way you have highlighted the bubbles and added the glossy accents to give them a great shine, and a super sentiment too. I keep saying I will get out one of my stamp sets each week and make at least three cards with it just so I don't feel like it isn't paying its way, but so far haven't managed to do this...I'm hopeless..lol. x

In know what you mean about resisting, we all have pretty weak will power :) I love your little bubble birds :)

I think that's why the crafting industry is doing pretty well Viv! How can you not think you're going to get the use out of this set though? It really does come with a smile guarantee! A gorgeous card and I'm looking forward to seeing you ink up this set a good few more times :)

PS I don't buy red rubber stamps now and only have a few sets left over from the old days!
