CAS Watercolour

I had several tiny pieces of smooshed card mounting up - they were about to see the inside of the waste bin as really they were too small to be of any real use and I am trying to continue in my  quest to keep the desk tidy 😇😇- but then I remembered I had a small butterfly punch that might fit some of the odd pieces.
So that was the basis for this card!

The die cut squares were also left over from other things so I am feeling rather pleased with myself that I managed to make this from scraps!

The smaller die cut was already smooshed with Stormy Sky DI and I just added a few spatters in Picked Raspberry.

The chrysalis on the branch is a very old (and small!) clear stamp and I coloured with my watercolour pens and added a teeny bit of sparkle. .

The sentiment is from SU's Butterfly Basics.
I painted the bodies of the tiny butterflies then just layered it all up.

CAS Watercolour's August challenge is Colourful Butterflies.

It's also been a little while since I have managed to go to The Playground, so am sharing my make over there too.

And at TIOT the challenge is - In My Garden there is....... !

We have had such a wet few days - sunshine one minute then heavy rain the next. Not what we want during August which is supposed to be our summer!
Thanks for taking the time to look today, wherever you are I hope your weather is better than mine! x

Love the chrysalis. I remember being a kid in school and we watched a chrysalis everyday until the butterfly came out. I can't remember if we actually saw it. It's a great card and how lovely that you made it from scraps. [Bunny]`

You've made such a pretty card from some of your scraps. Even the smallest pieces are usually enough to punch out a butterfly or tiny flower especially if they have been coloured with inks in some way. My desk (who am I kidding, whole room) is testament to my policy of not throwing anything away!!

Brilliant use of your snippets. Xxx

Really super card Viv, love the design and the fact that even though you have used a small butterlfly punch you have made the butterflies colourful to match the lovely paper. I hate it when folks use the small butterfly punches and just punch out of plain card, butterflies are colourful, well apart from the cabbage white.

Beautiful card Viv and great use of your little bits! Weather is rubbish here too and a lot cooler...in fact I smell Autumn in the air and much as I love all the colours of that season, I do feel that summer has passed us by in the guise of a 3 day heat wave this year! xx

Any small pieces I have get punched straight away with my SU butterfly punches. Slightly bigger and
I use a flower punch. Can’t throw it in the bin until it is in mangled pieces, Your card is just right and dosn’t Look at all from bits and pieces.

Hi Viv! Lovely to see you here and what a card. Great quote and the image is perfect of course. Love it! Hope all is well with you - hot again down here - fans blowing warm air around and Dudley hunting for cool tiles or his 'cool mat'. Err, in between suddenly becoming a 'teenager' with one thing on his mind! Am sure the vet would want to give him the chop but also know it won't make much difference in many cases. I know - too much information - sorry! Excuse me, I need to detach a dog from my leg, sigh.x

Hugs
