Not that's anything unusual - but I have made more of a mess than normal..... I was going to take some pics of the desk but decided it would be unfair to those of a nervous disposition!
This mess though is another to add to my list of - FUN THINGS TO DO!
I have been DESPERATE to try the Acrylic Dirty Pour Technique and this months challenge at CAS MIX UP is to use Acrylic Paint - so bought a very cheap set of acrylic paints and watched millions of videos - well 3 or 4 anyway....I covered the desk with some plastic, donned a pair of rubber gloves and had a few practice sessions mixing small amounts of all kinds of daft colours and pouring onto on odd bits of card - (now I know why it's called DIRTY pour!) - before I was confident enough to use a piece of precious Yupo.
I AM SOOOOOO PLEASED WITH MYSELF! Turned out pretty well I think? Even the critic in the room said it was 'cool'!!!
Added bonus is I have quite a bit left after cutting out my heart so have made another card (a later share) and have a small piece left for a third!
It's CAS MIX UP's 4th Birthday too so Happy Birthday and thanks for setting challenges which make me try out new things!

and popping in at Crafty Gals Corner where the challenge is Add a Heart!
Can recommend having a go at this if you've not done it before - there's something simply amazing watching the paints run into each other and make yummy patterns - and it's well worth the mess! x

Love it, love it, love it. I've been watching video's too but haven't plucked up the courage to try this yet. It'll probably take me longer to clear enough space than to actually attempt a go but we'll see. Looking forward to your 2nd share. X

Wow...Absolutely Gorgeous Artsy Dirty Pour die cut heart, Viv. We played with the Dirty Pour technique on canvas at a couple of our Retreats led by Loll. I Love how yours turned out on Yupo! You used beautiful colors and got such wonderful swirls on your design. TFS my friend. Hugs..Nancy
Hats off to you, Viv - you're a LOT braver than I am, lol. I couldn't face the mess or the cleaning up afterwards! But it was well worthwhile! It's a great result. I love the effect but no, it's not going to make my to do list of techniques, I'm afraid. Love it...especially the fact that you managed to make it CAS after all the mess...I would probably have fingerprints all over the card...;-)

Well, your end result is just amazing, I have never tried that technique but now I shall have to look into it. If this is really your first attempt just imagine what wonderful things you can come up with if you practice a bit more. I love the texture on you panel too, is it embossing? xx

You did brilliant Viv, I do a lot of acrylic paint pouring. Got myself a oil draining dish which goes under the car out cheap, an old baking wire tray and pop it on top...Sometimes I will put a large paper under the drainer with water paper and it is another project again...result.... love this.xx

I have been thinking about this technique but I think you have to buy some sort of mixative to get it to flow which I don't have and the clearing up must be horrendous which does put me off a bit, but your finished look is AMAZING!!! I love the pink and black and the beautiful swirls with more black to the right, and the which die cut on the heart and then the white on black second part of the sentiment works beautifully, and love the embossed background. I'm looking forward to seeing what you did with the other pieces Viv. x

It looks like your acrylics really moved well. Wonder if it was due to the Yuop? Did you add pouring medium to your paints?
Great choice of (limited) colors. I could look at that lovely poured mess for hours.

This is a breathtaking piece of art. What a wonderful result you got with the dirty pour. I think my paints have dried up but this makes me want to try this.
